Since 1988 (over 23 years), Stoughton Music Center has been offering quality private music lessons at affordable rates on all instruments, including guitar, piano, drums, bass guitar, trumpet, violin, woodwinds, as well as vocal lessons. We recently have added GROUP ENSEMBLES and FAMILY DISCOUNTS to our music school program. Please click HERE to read about lesson prices and policy.

Lessons are taught to students of all ages and adult students are welcomed. Parents of young students are encouraged to sit in the lesson studio at any time to monitor the lesson. Stoughton Music School has eight operating private studios and a comfortable waiting area complete with cable TV, newspapers, magazines, water cooler and a snack and soda machine.

We employ highly qualified, friendly and patient music teachers. Our instructor bios are available under the instrument categories. At Stoughton Music School our students will be taught to read music, understand music theory and taught to play in time.

The owner/founder of Stoughton Music School, Robert Tarchara, authored a highly acclaimed guitar instruction course which is taught by our guitar teaching staff.

Our music instructors teach from a method book*, music theory/manuscript book*, and teach timing through the use of a metronome*. A weekly assignment will be given to each enrolled student and progress will be closely monitored and ecnouraged to advance the student's musical skills.

In June of each year, Stoughton Music Center holds its annual student recital in which any enrolled student who takes lessons for the whole school year with consistant attendance may participate. Performance pieces will be evaluated by the instructor and the owner prior to our recital to see if he or she is ready to perform.

Owner Robert Tarchara considers his music lesson program the foundation of his business and takes pride in its success.
